GRAMPIAN LMC
WORKING FOR GENERAL PRACTICE ACROSS THE NORTH EAST OF SCOTLAND
Grampian Local Medical Committee is the representative body for General Practitioners in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. The LMC deals with matters relating to the remuneration and conditions of service of GPs. These are generally referred to as medico-political. These can be issues as diverse as negotiations with NHS Grampian regarding terms and conditions, professionalism and supporting colleagues, and representing the profession within outside bodies such as the BMA.
We work closely with, and have a similar membership to, the General Practitioners' Sub-Committee of NHS Grampian's Area Medical Committee. The GP Sub-Committee has two main statutory functions:
-
To provide advice on the operation of general medical services
-
To advise the Area Medical Committee (the general function of the AMC is to advise the Health Board on the provision of NHS services)
